Softball Recap: Wauconda Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Wauconda's offense. They came up short against the Vernon Hills Cougars on Wednesday, falling 10-0. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Bulldogs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Wauconda dropped their record down to 4-16 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Vernon Hills, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-14.

Looking ahead, Wauconda will challenge Grayslake Central at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Vernon Hills, they will face off against Maine East at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars are facing the Blue Demons at the right time seeing as the Blue Demons are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
