Baseball Recap: Frederick Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Frederick, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Horizon Hawks on Saturday by a score of 8-4 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The win was some much needed relief for the Golden Eagles as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Alex Clapp was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Frederick's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-10 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Danny Thompson, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Frederick's victory bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Horizon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Frederick will challenge Silver Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Horizon, they will head out to face off against Centaurus at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
