Baseball Recap: Ralston Valley Comes Up Short

Ralston Valley's tournament run continued when they took on Paradise Honors on Saturday. Ralston Valley took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paradise Honors.

Jake Watts was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits (and not a single walk).

At the plate, Ralston Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matt Hays, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. Mason Gilbreth also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Ralston Valley now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Paradise Honors, the win keeps they at an undefeated 9-0.

Looking ahead, Ralston Valley will challenge Erie at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Paradise Honors, they will welcome Mount St. Mary at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
