Volleyball Recap: Ocean Springs' Undefeated Season over After Five Games

In Saturday's Canine Competition, Ocean Springs had to take the L. They fell just short of the Brandon Bulldogs by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The match marked the Greyhounds' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Lilly Rutland paced Ocean Springs' offense, picking up eight kills. Rutland were helped by Baylor Edmiston and Lucy Pepper, who contributed 11 assists each. Pepper was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Brandon was led to victory by Karley Grantham and Katie Thorthon. Grantham had 13 assists and eight digs, while Thorthon had ten digs and two assists. That's the most assists Grantham has posted since back in September of 2024.

Having lost for the first time this season, Ocean Springs fell to 4-1. As for Brandon, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Ocean Springs has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Madison-Ridgeland Academy on the 5th. As for Brandon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Our Lady Academy on the 2nd.
