Brunswick got themselves on the board against Elyria on Friday, but Elyria never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 49-0 win over the Pioneers. The victory continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Pioneers: they've now won five in a row.

Sean Barnett had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 75 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Gavin Ballok, who rushed for 29 yards and two scores.

Brunswick's run defense was locked in: Elyria could only muster 3.3 yards per carry. While two picked up at least six total tackles, Jamaurie Garth stood above the rest. He picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made six total tackles (2.0 for loss). Brunswick didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 10.9.

Brunswick's defense didn't let Antonio Pride., get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for six sacks. Elijah Clement refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Garth was another major factor on D, picking up a sack, forcing one fumble, and making six total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Brunswick's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Elyria, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.

Coming up, Brunswick will challenge Mentor at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Devils will need to watch out since the Cardinals have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Elyria, they will face off against Olmsted Falls at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The contest will give the Pioneers their first taste of in-conference action this season.
