Recap: Saranac Lake Red Storm vs. AuSable Valley Patriots        
        
		
            
 The Saranac Lake Red Storm scored the most points they've had all season to find success  on Tuesday. They breezed by AuSable Valley on the road  to the tune of  71-36. Given Saranac Lake's advantage  in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings  (they are ranked 397th, while AuSable Valley is ranked 821st), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
  Caleb Akey was  his usual excellent self,  dropping  a double-double on 25 points and ten  rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which  he has scored at least a third of Saranac Lake's points. The team also got some help courtesy of  Melvin Cirikovic, who  scored 12 points along with five  assists and five  rebounds.
 The  win  makes it two in a row for Saranac Lake and  bumps their season record up to 8-7. As for AuSable Valley, they are  on a 11-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 1-13.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saranac Lake will take on Plattsburgh at 7:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Hopefully Saranac Lake focused on turnovers this week  since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. As for AuSable Valley, they will be playing at home against Saranac at 7:30  p.m.  on Thursday. AuSable Valley is coming into the  game with nine straight  losses at home,  meaning Saranac will have to defend against a  squad hungry for a  victory.
