Bowling Green came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.9 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Barren County Trojans. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Purples also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2025.

James Yarbrough and Jack Cowan did most of the damage at the plate: Yarbrough went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double, while Cowan got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Cowan has posted since back in April. Hudson Nottimeier was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

Bowling Green's record is now 29-4-1. As for Barren County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 15-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bowling Green will take on Campbellsville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Purples' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Barren County, they will challenge South Warren at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
