Softball Recap: Wilcox Takes a Loss

Wilcox was the 8-5 winner over Saratoga when they last played one another back in March of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Wilcox Chargers fell just short of the Saratoga Falcons by a score of 7-6 on Wednesday. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lauen Rodriguez put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Rodriguez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Samantha Bianchi was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Emma Salinas, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Even though they lost, Wilcox kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Wilcox now has a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Wilcox will head out on the road to take on Santa Clara at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saratoga, they will welcome Prospect at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
