There's no place like home for South Florence, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. Everything went their way against the Beaufort Eagles on Saturday as they made off with a 9-3 victory. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 games by six runs or more this season.
Landon Hill tossed a big game, tossing 5.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits.
On the hitting side, Cohen Springs was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Khalon McGee was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
South Florence kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.
South Florence has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Beaufort, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-15.
