Basketball Recap: Nash Central Bulldogs vs. Franklinton Red Rams
After flying high against Bunn last Monday, Nash Central came back down to earth. The Nash Central Bulldogs took a 46-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Franklinton Red Rams. The Bulldogs were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Rams earlier this season, when they won 49-39.
Nash Central lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was JaKayla Gay, who went 9-for-18 on her way to 22 points and five assists. That was a full 52.4% of Nash Central's points, marking the third time in a row Gay has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marquasia Warren, who went 5-for-7 to rack up 13 points.
Nash Central's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Franklinton, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-9.
