Baseball Recap: Round Rock Westwood Takes a Loss

If Round Rock Westwood was riding high fresh off their 14-0 takedown of Manor last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Round Rock Westwood fell just short of the Hutto Hippos by a score of 1-0 on Saturday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hippos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2022.

Round Rock Westwood has also been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12-1 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. The win was the third in a row for Hutto, bringing their record up to 8-10.

While Round Rock Westwood had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
