Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Academy Has No Trouble Against Ponte Vedra

St. Joseph Academy won the last time they faced Ponte Vedra and things went their way on Wednesday too. The St. Joseph Academy Flashes blew past the Ponte Vedra Sharks 10-3. The result was nothing new for the Flashes, who have now won four matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jacob Guthmiller tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Camden Biskup, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Patrick Mullahy, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

The win made it two in a row for St. Joseph Academy and bumps their season record up to 9-1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Ponte Vedra, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-5.

Looking ahead, St. Joseph Academy will venture away from home to challenge West Nassau at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ponte Vedra, they will host Baker County at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
