Recap: Westlake Christian Academy Eagles vs. Schaumburg Christian Conquerors
The Westlake Christian Academy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 47-24 walloping at the hands of Schaumburg Christian. Westlake Christian Academy was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Schaumburg Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Schaumburg Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Carynton Hobson out in front who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 19 rebounds. The game was Hobson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Bella Bustamante was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with ten steals and five assists.
Westlake Christian Academy's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.7 points per game. As for Schaumburg Christian, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
Westlake Christian Academy will be playing at home against Westminster Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Schaumburg Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Alden-Hebron at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alden-Hebron is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.
