Volleyball Recap: Sanderson Comes Up Short

Sanderson lost against Wakefield back in August of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Spartans took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines.

The final score came out to 25-20, 24-26, 25-11, 25-17.

Anna Kate Spangler paced Sanderson's offense, picking up seven kills. Spangler got some help from Sydney Worrell and her 17 assists. Worrell was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Sanderson's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Wakefield, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sanderson is packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will challenge Rolesville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. After both having extra time off, Wakefield and Wake Forest will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
