Meanwhile, East Longmeadow played in-conference for the first time on Thursday and got just the result they were looking for. They put the hurt on Minnechaug Regional with a sharp 15-8 win. With that strong performance, Carlin is now averaging an impressive 1.1 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas LaChapelle, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI.
Taconic has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-4 record this season. As for East Longmeadow, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-3.
Taconic beat East Longmeadow 4-1 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
