Baseball Recap: Geneva Comes Up Short

Geneva fell victim to Indian Rocks Christian and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in March.

This is the second loss in a row for Geneva and nudges their season record down to 16-5. As for Indian Rocks Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.

Coming up, Geneva will look to defend their home field on Monday against Colonial at 4:30 p.m. The Knights' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Grenadiers have averaged an impressive 7.6 runs per game this season. As for Indian Rocks Christian, they will head out on the road to take on Canterbury at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Crusaders' pitching crew has only allowed 1.9 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
