Baseball Recap: Mountain View's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

While Mountain View's victory against Northridge wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mountain Lions had just enough and edged out the Grizzlies 7-6. The Mountain Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Grizzlies on Wednesday, too.

Sam Holt made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

Holt wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Grady Cogan, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3. Another was Derek Parker, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Mountain View kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in May of 2024.

Mountain View's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-5. As for Northridge, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-9.

Looking ahead, Mountain View will welcome Greeley Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Mountain Lions are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Northridge, they will face off against Berthoud at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
