Baseball Recap: Campolindo Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

Campolindo lost to Alameda back in April of 2015, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Campolindo Cougars came out on top against the Alameda Hornets by a score of 4-1. The four-run effort marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring match of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Colin Rutzen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits.

At the plate, Campolindo's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was William Myers, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Another was Jack Luster, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Campolindo pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Alameda, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Coming up, Campolindo will take on Miramonte at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Alameda, they will square off against Granada at 11:45 p.m. on Saturday.
