Basketball Recap: Green Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Victory

Green extended their winning streak to ten games thanks to a huge performance from Abbie Knapp. The Green Bobcats blew past the Clay Panthers 72-32 on Saturday thanks in part to Knapp, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 14 rebounds. Her afternoon made it 17 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Matti Hayslip was another key player, going 7 of 13 on her way to 21 points. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Green pushed their record up to 16-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Clay, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Green will challenge Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Green's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last nine contests. As for Clay, they are taking a road trip to take on East at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
