Softball Recap: Oxbridge Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Lake Placid last Friday, Oxbridge Academy came back down to earth. The Oxbridge Academy ThunderWolves took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Park Vista Cobras on Monday. If the ThunderWolves were looking for revenge after losing 7-2 to the Cobras when the teams met back in March of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Riley Frauntfelter made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ila Trueblood, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases.

Oxbridge Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Park Vista, their record is now 7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oxbridge Academy will venture away from home to square off against Pine Crest at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Park Vista, they are taking a road trip to take on Cardinal Newman at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cardinal Newman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9 runs per game this season.
