Smithson Valley had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Harlingen South Hawks on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Rangers sure are getting used to it with their 21st in a row.

Smithson Valley's win was their 14th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.1 runs. As for Harlingen South, their defeat dropped their record down to 22-7.

Smithson Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Hawks: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
