Baseball Recap: Seminary Sets Scoring Season-High Against West Marion

Seminary extended their postseason success on Thursday against West Marion. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 23-2 victory. The Bulldogs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Landon Bush made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jimmy 'JD' Harvey, who went 4-for-6 with one home run, six RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Jomarrion 'JoJo' Flowers was another key player, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double.

Seminary always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .673. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Marion only posted an OBP of .348.

Seminary's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 31-8-2. As for West Marion, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-18.

Looking ahead, Seminary will challenge Mooreville at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Troopers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Bulldogs' hitters will have their work cut out for them. West Marion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
