Basketball Recap: Bayfield's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Bayfield waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They strolled past the Mellen Granite Diggers with points to spare, taking the game 85-70. This was a revenge game for the Trollers: when they faced off against the Granite Diggers back in January, they had to take a 70-58 loss.

Bayfield had a senior duo take command as Quintin Bresette dropped a double-double with 29 points and 12 assists and Maxwell Gordon dropped a double-double with 26 points and 12 rebounds. Bresette's evening made it nine games in a row in which he has scored at least 18 points. Richard Bressler was another key player, putting up 12 points and five assists.

Bayfield's win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Mellen, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 17-3.

Looking ahead, Bayfield won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fond du Lac Ojibwe O at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Bayfield is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 77.1 points per game this season. As for Mellen, they will face off against Winter at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
