Basketball Recap: Oak Harbor Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Oak Harbor had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 68-57 victory over the Sehome Mariners on Friday. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 67-57 win the Mariners walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Oak Harbor's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 2-9. As for Sehome, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Oak Harbor and Sehome could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings. Oak Harbor (ranked 286th) will meet Burlington-Edison (ranked 94th) at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Sehome will take on Lynden at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday down 179 places (195 vs. 16).
