Baseball Recap: Monte Vista Comes Up Short

Monte Vista's tournament run continued when they took on Christian on Wednesday. The Monte Vista Monarchs fell just short of the Christian Patriots by a score of 6-5.

Monte Vista saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Gutierrez, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. Another was Ben Kurtz, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Monte Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Looking ahead, Monte Vista is taking a road trip to face off against Madison at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against El Capitan at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
