Baseball Recap: Jefferson Dragons vs. King Lions

Jefferson extended their postseason success on Friday against King. They beat the King Lions by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 10-0. Considering Jefferson has won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Michael Marroquin looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive pitching appearances.

On the hitting side, Jefferson's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Copple, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with a home run, three runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Mallo, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

The victory was the fifth in a row for Jefferson, bringing their record for this year to 18-8. As for King, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-14.
