Baseball Game Preview: St. Mark's Lions vs. Trinity Valley Trojans

The St. Mark's Lions are taking a road trip to square off against the Trinity Valley Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

St. Mark's came into this matchup off a tough seven-run loss last Tuesday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Fort Worth Country Day by a score of 6-4 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lions have suffered since April 8, 2024.

Meanwhile, Trinity Valley fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Greenhill on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 9-8. The Trojans just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Andrew Audi made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in four of his six plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Holden Williams was another key player, going 2-for-5 with three RBI and one triple.

Trinity Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for St. Mark's, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season.

St. Mark's suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Trinity Valley when the teams last played back in March of 2022. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
