Basketball Recap: Angleton Comes Up Short

Angleton lost against Deer Park back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Deer by a score of 77-75. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (63), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Angleton lost, don't look at Bryson Campbell. Despite the final result, he went 13-for-18 to rack up 38 points and five assists. The matchup was Campbell's eighth in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nathaniel Kabba, who shot 70% from the field on his way to 18 points.

Angleton now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Deer Park, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 4-1.

Angleton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 72-64 loss against Goose Creek Memorial on the 21st. As for Deer Park, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-44 defeat against Tompkins on the 21st.
