Recap: West Broward Bobcats vs. South Broward Bulldogs

The West Broward Bobcats lost to the South Broward Bulldogs back in January of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. West Broward walked away with a 53-44 win over South Broward.

West Broward's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Bedirhan Menguc led the charge by scoring 12 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jace Galvez, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

South Broward's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominique Brutus, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. Brutus has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Collier, who scored 12 points.

West Broward's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-8. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.3 points per game. As for South Broward, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

West Broward will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Cypress Bay at 7:30 p.m. Cypress Bay presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Broward in Florida (Cypress Bay is ranked 130th, while West Broward is ranked 395th). As for South Broward, they will square off against Miramar at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South Broward focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
