Baseball Game Preview: Delaware Valley Terriers vs. Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls

The Delaware Valley Terriers will square off against the Point Pleasant Beach Garnet Gulls on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Delaware Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Metuchen by a score of 5-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Terriers.

Meanwhile, Point Pleasant Beach entered their tilt with South Amboy on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Governors. Considering the Garnet Gulls have won 11 matchups by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

TOMMY CONROY made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, CARSON PFEIFER was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. DANNY LUBACH was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Point Pleasant Beach was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Point Pleasant Beach's victory bumped their record up to 20-7. As for Delaware Valley, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
