Basketball Recap: Calhoun Comes Up Short

If Calhoun was riding high fresh off their 72-34 takedown of Greenfield/Northwestern last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Calhoun Warriors fell just short of the Routt Catholic Rockets by a score of 53-50 on Friday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Rockets recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Calhoun's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Routt Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 20-2.

Calhoun and Routt Catholic should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. Calhoun will square off against Astoria/VIT at 5:00 p.m. on Monday up 571 places (185 vs. 756). Similarly, Routt Catholic (ranked 77th) will meet Liberty (ranked 415th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
