Softball Game Preview: Jordan-Elbridge Eagles vs. Homer Trojans

The Jordan-Elbridge Eagles will face off against the Homer Trojans at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Homer took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Jordan-Elbridge, who comes in off a win.

Jordan-Elbridge gave up the first runs on Tuesday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over Cazenovia. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Abby DelFavero made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Brielle Whitten was excellent, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Brooke Chiaramonte, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Jordan-Elbridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Homer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 12-4 to Johnson City.

Homer's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Jordan-Elbridge, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Everything went Jordan-Elbridge's way against Homer in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Jordan-Elbridge made off with a 16-1 victory. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
