SCISA AAA recap October 1, 2013

Adding to the longest winning streak in SCISA AAA this week, Orangeburg Prep beat Heathwood Hall Episcopal 22-14. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Indians.

Augusta Christian moved up to 140 from 282 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Lions climbed the ranks as a result of topping Pinewood Prep 21-6.

Ben Lippen's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Robert Barrow threw for 117 and 2 touchdowns and Aaron Maguire had 110 yards receiving. On the ground David Rhoden contributed 214 yards.

The Falcons' dynamic duo of Barrow and Maguire proved tough for Laurence Manning Academy to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

William Kinney provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Wilson Hall bested Porter-Gaud. He completed 10 passes for 161 yards and also ran for 96 yards. Kinney's favorite target this week was Devin Singleton, who caught 2 passes for 99 yards.

Rhoden was a force in the backfield as Ben Lippen defeated the Swampcats.

The Cyclones' Steven Duncan and Foster Moe have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Duncan has thrown for 1,464 yards this season, while Moe, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 40 catches for 737 yards. Bryson Ashmore from Augusta Christian leads the league in rushing with 687 yards.

The top two teams in SCISA AAA will face off this week when first place Wilson Hall takes on second place Orangeburg Prep. Last week, the Barons beat Porter-Gaud, while Orangeburg Prep topped the Highlanders.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Wilson Hall takes on Adam Holmes' team. Bruce Lane's team has allowed 34 points this season, while the Indians have given up 68. The Barons allowed 0 points last week as they beat Rick Reetz's team.

Jolly Dolittle's team and Laurence Manning Academy played the closest game in the league this week, with Jolly Dolittle's team eventually emerging with a 29-23 victory. Rhoden ran for 214 yards in the win.
