Basketball Recap: Homeschool Resource Center Drops Highest Score of Season Against Portage Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask HomeSchool Resource Center). They were the clear victor by a 72-50 margin over Portage Christian on Monday. The Patriots pushed the score to 59-32 by the end of the third, a deficit Portage Christian cut but never quite recovered from.

HomeSchool Resource Center found their leader in sophomore Noel Green, who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 12 boards. Green is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down 12 or more in the last three games he's played. Nathan Colon was another key player, putting up nine points.

HomeSchool Resource Center smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since the start of last season.

The win made it two in a row for HomeSchool Resource Center and bumps their season record up to 12-19. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. As for Portage Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Looking ahead, HomeSchool Resource Center will venture away from home to face off against Calumet Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Calumet Christian: they have been struggling with seven straight losses at home, while HomeSchool Resource Center has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for Portage Christian, they will host Mishawaka HomeSchool W at 8:00 p.m. on February 18th.
