Basketball Game Preview: Kittson Central Bearcats vs. Fertile-Beltrami Falcons

The Kittson Central Bearcats will square off against the Fertile-Beltrami Falcons at 7:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Kittson Central is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Saturday. They breezed past Cass Lake-Bena to the tune of 78-47. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bearcats.

Meanwhile, Fertile-Beltrami came tearing into Saturday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Mustangs, posting a 78-41 victory. Given the Falcons' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 96th, while the Mustangs are ranked 303rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fertile-Beltrami's win was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-7. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points over those games. As for Kittson Central, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.

Kittson Central was taken down by Fertile-Beltrami 73-44 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Can Kittson Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
