League recap: Longwell throws longest pass in league this season for Hilliard Darby

Chase Longwell and Michael Porter provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Westerville Central. The connection went for 53 yards, the longest such play in Ohio Capital - Cardinal this season.

Westerville North moved up to 508 from 536 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Warriors climbed the ranks as a result of losing to Worthington Kilbourne 26-6.

Hilliard Darby's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Longwell threw for 72 yards and Porter had 53 yards receiving. On the ground Hayden VanKirk chipped in 95 yards. Caleb Day helped Hilliard Darby's passing attack out by catching two balls for 19 yards.

Westerville Central's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Warhawks feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Jared Drake has thrown for 1176 yards and 14 touchdowns this season, while Charlie Moushey has 27 catches for 490 yards. Drake also leads the league in rushing with 937 yards.

Drake of the the Warhawks is only 63 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.

A big matchup in Ohio Capital - Cardinal this week will be when Hilliard Bradley takes on the Panthers. As it stands, Hilliard Bradley is in fifth, while Hilliard Darby is in first.

John Santagata's team extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Westerville Central, 29-7. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Panthers.
