Montrose is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. Montrose is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-8 win over Fruita Monument. With the Red Hawks ahead 42-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Meanwhile, Falcon had to suffer through a 49-14 loss at the hands of Ponderosa.

Although Falcon took the loss, they still got scores from Ashton Massey and Joshua Mahoney.

Montrose's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Falcon, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Montrose against Falcon in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 56-6 win. In that game, the Red Hawks amassed a halftime lead of 42-6, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
