Basketball Recap: North Shore Takes a Loss

North Shore lost against Friends Academy back in March of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The North Shore Vikings fell to the Friends Academy Quakers 50-46. The match marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Eyan Valadez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 32 points and 14 boards for Friends Academy. The dominant performance gave Valadez a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase O'Brien, who posted seven points and nine rebounds.

North Shore's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2. As for Friends Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-3.

North Shore will square off against Lawrence at 7:00 p.m. on January 17th. As for Friends Academy, they will take on Floral Park Memorial at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Friends Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.8 points per game this season.
