Basketball Recap: Hayesville Comes Up Short

After flying high against Nantahala on Friday, Hayesville came back down to earth. The Yellowjackets were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 51-50 to the Hiwassee Dam Eagles. The matchup marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hayesville fell to 4-1. As for Hiwassee Dam, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Hayesville will take on rival Swain County at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Hiwassee Dam is set to challenge their familiar foe Murphy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
