Football Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Stansbury

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Stansbury on Friday. They blew past the Tooele Buffaloes 55-33. That's more bragging rights for the Stallions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Brighton Reutzel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 183 yards and four touchdowns, while also rushing for 38 yards. Boston Rowley was Reutzel's top target, picking up 38 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Despite the loss, Tooele still got an impressive performance from Mavrik Chlarson, who picked up 122 receiving yards and two TDs, and also punched in one rushing score. Another player making a difference was Kami Vaenuku, who rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown.

The victory (which was Stansbury's third in a row) raised their record to 6-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.3 points over those games. As for Tooele, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-5.

As for Tooele, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Green Canyon at 7:00 p.m. The Wolves' defense has only allowed 14.7 points per game this season, so the Buffaloes' offense will have their work cut out for them.
