Baseball Recap: Crystal River Comes Up Short

After soaring to 11 runs the game before, Crystal River was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They came up short against the Vanguard Knights, falling 16-1. The Pirates were not able to make up for their defeat to the Knights from their previous meeting back in February of 2023.

Crystal River saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eli Langston, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Crystal River's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Vanguard, their record now sits at 8-3.

Coming up, Crystal River will face off against Lecanto at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lecanto has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.4 runs per game on average), something Crystal River will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Vanguard, they will challenge P.K. Yonge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
