            Softball Preview: Mifflin County Huskies vs. West Perry Mustangs        
        
		
        
        
            The Mifflin County Huskies will venture away from home to  take on the West Perry Mustangs  at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday. West Perry took a loss in their last  match and will be looking to turn the tables on Mifflin County, who comes in off a win.
While Mifflin County's  victory against Altoona wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Huskies skirted past the Mountain Lions  3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest  win the Huskies have posted  since May 14, 2024.
  Malaina Maxwell was  excellent,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with one  stolen base and one  run.  Carly Dickson also deserves some recognition as  she  snagged her first  stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, West Perry was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their 11th straight  defeat. They took  a  7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of James Buchanan.
  Taylor Lupfer was cooking despite her team's loss,   going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of  Rylann Kelly, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI and one  double.
 Mifflin County has  been performing  well recently as they've  won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-6-1 record  this season. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for West Perry, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11-1.
 Mifflin County beat West Perry 8-5  in their previous matchup  back in May of 2024. Do  the Huskies have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mustangs turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
