Baseball Recap: Denmark Takes a Loss

If Denmark was feeling good fresh off their 9-0 takedown of Luxemburg-Casco on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Denmark saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braedon Heezen, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. Heezen is becoming a predictor of the Vikings' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 2-6 when he doesn't). Another was Ozzie Enz, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI.

Denmark has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Luxemburg-Casco, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.
