Soccer Recap: Pierce County Triumphs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Pierce County had no problem doing just that on Friday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Bears who were credited with the win. The Pierce County Bears got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Pike County Pirates's three. For Pierce County, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory Pike County walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2018.

The win was the fourth in a row for Pierce County, bringing their record up to 14-5. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four matches. As for Pike County, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 16-6 record.
