Volleyball Recap: Herrin Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Herrin hadn't done well against DuQuoin recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Tigers came out on top against the Indians by a score of 2-0. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Indians back in September, they had to take a 2-0 defeat.

While Herrin won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-23.

Herrin had a senior duo take command as Addison Stinson had 16 digs and two aces and Kylie Wagoner-Smith had 12 digs. Those 16 digs set a new season-high mark for Stinson.

Herrin's win ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 10-22. As for DuQuoin, they dropped their record down to 14-18 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Coming up, Herrin will face off against Pinckneyville at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for DuQuoin, they will host Wesclin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
