Baseball Preview: Bath County Wildcats vs. Fleming County Panthers
Bath County hasn't had much luck against Fleming County recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Bath County fell victim to Crestview and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 12-0. The Wildcats just can't catch a break and have now endured four defeats in a row.
Meanwhile, Fleming County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Walton Beach.
Fleming County got a good showing from Kaleb McIntyre, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Thadd Applegate led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5. He has become a key player for Fleming County: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-5 otherwise.
