Softball Recap: David Thibodaux Victorious

David Thibodaux won the last time they faced Barbe and things went their way on Monday too. The David Thibodaux Bulldogs walked away with a 14-11 win over the Barbe Buccaneers.

Morgan Malveaux spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered seven earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits and racked up eight Ks. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, David Thibodaux let Justice Chambers and Aubrey Savini run wild. Chambers went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Savini scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-6. Chambers also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Amalie Harvison was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

David Thibodaux now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Barbe, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.

Coming up, David Thibodaux will head out on the road to challenge Northside at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Barbe, they will be playing at home against Acadiana at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Acadiana will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Barbe surely won't give up without a fight.
