Homer won the last time they faced Houston and things went their way on Friday too. The Mariners walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Hawks. That looming 2-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Mariners yet this season.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Homer was: they took both sets by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-14.

Swift Blackstock paced Homer's offense, picking up seven kills. Blackstock got some help from Alysha Nyvall and her 15 assists. Nyvall was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

The win made it two in a row for Homer and bumps their season record up to 5-1. As for Houston, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.
