There's no place like home for Covenant Day, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the High Point Christian Academy Cougars on Saturday. That's more bragging rights for the Lions, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Zeb Engstrom, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. Brode Dixon also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Covenant Day's record is now 3-1. As for High Point Christian Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Covenant Day will challenge Wesleyan Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Wesleyan Christian Academy has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for High Point Christian Academy, they have already played their next matchup, a 6-0 victory against North Surry on the 10th.
