Football Preview: Killingly Redmen vs. Woodstock Academy Centaurs        
        
		
             Killingly has gone 4-0 against Woodstock Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further  on Thursday. After both having extra time off,  the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and  take on  one another  at 10:00  a.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Killingly has nine straight  wins, Woodstock Academy has six straight  losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
 Last Friday, Killingly got the win against New London  by a conclusive  41-20. The result was nothing new for the Redmen, who have now won seven matches by 21  points or more  so far this season.
 This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to  Hayden Allard and  Everton Brown. Allard rushed for 170 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.1 yards per carry while  Brown rushed for 172 yards and two touchdowns on only 13 carries. Allard has been hot , having  posted two or more  rushing touchdowns the last seven times he's  played.
 Killingly was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 351  rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now  rushed for at least 158  rushing yards in 20 consecutive  matchups  dating back to last season.
 On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Killingly's defense and their four sacks. In that department,  Anthony Oates was the leader with two.
 Meanwhile, Woodstock Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Montville last Saturday and fell  26-23.
 Killingly pushed their record up to 9-0 with the  victory, which was their seventh straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Woodstock Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
 Everything came up roses for Killingly against Woodstock Academy when the teams last played  back in November of 2023, as the  squad secured  a  42-15 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Killingly since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
